A few years ago I was simply another person enjoying karaoke at local venues around Toronto.
One evening, while singing in a neighbourhood restaurant, I looked around the room and realized something.
People weren't just listening to music.
They were laughing together.
Cheering for one another.
Joining in from their tables.
Celebrating complete strangers.
The singer wasn't really the story.
The connection between people was.
In that moment, I realized karaoke wasn't really about singing—it was about creating an atmosphere where ordinary people felt comfortable doing something extraordinary.
That night planted the seed that eventually became Karaoke Stars. I wanted to create more evenings like this. Not just karaoke...

Years working in internet marketing, project management and customer service taught Eddy something that still guides Karaoke Stars today:

A Lifetime On Stage
Long before Karaoke Stars, Eddy spent years performing with Scarborough Music Theatre, Steppin' Out, North Toronto Players and Curtain Call Players, where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors of SMT. Before that, Eddy was the head DJ at Roller World in Sacrborough for 3 years.
His love of music, coupled with appeares in productions including The Sound of Music, The King and I, Freaky Friday, Fiddler On The Roof and Oliver, has helped him develop the confidence, stage presence and audience awareness that now helps make every karaoke event engaging and enjoyable.
Those experiences taught an important lesson:

It was one of the first songs I ever sang at karaoke back in 2003, and it remains one of my favourites today.
